President's Message
Trustworthiness is rather rare these days. Lets face it most people would think twice before they would do random acts of kindness. But the living legacy of faith through works that the past and current members have put forth with their sweat, blood tears, and yes even after a few several cases of beer, a not so kind exchanges of words to one another, but all accomplished for the common good of serving God and this parish community.
The faithful servants of God who worship him with great awe, love, and adoration are the Holy Name Society members. Whether they come together on Communion Sundays, All Night Adoration, Monday Memorial Mass, or any other time to worship God they do not ask in their prayers what God can to for them, but what can I do for you Lord to serve you. Our membership goes above and far beyond doing acts of random kindness. You see their faith in these men when you see them working in different ministries throughout this parish community from Christian Services to consoling those that lost a loved one, from preaching God’s Word to bringing the Eucharist to those that are sick and Homebound, from working behind the scenes at the Lomita Fair to just plain old barbecuing, and from the one of the most difficult and scariest task of being on the highest top of this church perched on a cherry picker while braving the heights of being seven stories high, let us not forget those individuals working with our special needs children of the parish to the simplest little things like putting their hand on someone’s shoulder and telling them it will be all right.
As a man, I will continue to pray daily to God to give me guidance and to keep my faith strong and enduring. During my term as president for Holy Name I will pray to God our Father to have the Holy Spirit in me to be able to lead, inspire, and boldly speak for an organization of Catholic men that have the wisdom and vision to see the truth and future of this parish community.
Whether you are a member of the Holy Name Society or a parishioner ask of yourselves that the same standards of strength and sacrifice, which we as Holy Name Society Members hold dear to our hearts, that they may continue and be instill in yourselves.
